I came up with this process although Im sure I didnt invent it to make a rusted metal circuit box cover blend better with the wooden accents in our home. Cover it in a thin layer of Bondo car body filler. Making wood look like metal. You can get really smooth surfaces using it. Use a rag to blend the colorant.
